No, Star Wars: The Old Republic will feature a naming filter. Naming filters include not being able to have numbers, special ACII characters or Star Wars names.

As you play you will be asked to make moral choices for your character. Based on those decisions you will gain points towards either the Light or the Dark side. Depending on your standing, you will unlock different abilities based on your morality.
