Official Forums Taken Offline, Bioware Now Accepting Applications for Beta

Yesterday LucasArts and BioWare announced that users can volunteer for the closed beta of Star Wars: The Old Republic. If you were one of the thousands of people trying to access the Beta Testing Portal for SWTOR yesterday, you were greeted with a message that Bioware was making adjustments to the site due to the overwhelming response to the testing announcement.

It appears this morning they have ironed out most of the kinks by taking down the forums. The following message has been posted in their place:

As some of you may be aware, we are currently experiencing a high degree of traffic. Our staff is working to address these performance and capacity issues as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you may experience some latency while visiting the website. We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you.

If you are having issues signing-up or updating an existing account, please contact us and provide enough information so that our staff can readily assist you. Please note that we will not be choosing testers based on what order they have signed up. Your patience during this process is greatly appreciated.

It may take several attempts, but we have verified that applications are able to be submitted this morning. Be sure to hit the Beta Testing Portal for your chance to enter the beta.

If you get stuck in a loop submitting your system scan keep trying and eventually it will submit.
