Sean Addresses Fan Friday Conspiracy Theories

The news from Sean earlier today giving the community a preview of Fan Friday has already stirred up some debate on the forums.

You may recall that last weeks Fan Friday update was delayed and later released containing only the planet Coruscant HoloNet.

Sean has posted an update on the forums addressing some concerns that this weeks announcement of Fan Friday would only include Threat of Peace #15 could be a deeper conspiracy:

First, no, it was not planned to postpone Threat of Peace #15 last week; that occurred because of a complication with the update itself and wasn't ready for our global community until this week. That issue has been fixed and we will be releasing it this Friday. Issue #16 is already finished and will be on schedule for next week.

As for our other updates, we did have plans for releasing additional content but they just were not ready to be released yet. There is still the possibility that Threat of Peace #16 will be released alongside additional content next week but we'll know more about that early next week.

We do actually have some great announcements and reveals in store for you but we want to ensure that everything is crafted with quality in mind. If something is not ready to be released, it's just not ready to be released. While we know that some people may become upset over a delay, we would rather postpone something a few weeks rather than put it out when it's not ready.

I do apologize for any agitation some of you may be experiencing. Furthermore, we do appreciate those of you who have been giving us your feedback on this constructively instead of having this degrade into an argument.

*Update: It continues. Sean has responded yet again:
Let me say, the flames and "no holds barred" type posts don't bother me personally. I've been working in this field for almost a decade (ack!) and I was in the Marine Corps prior to that. The reason we ask that everyone be respectful is more for the community at large. Debates can easily degrade to arguments and verbal (or rather, text) altercations. We'd rather promote a community where debate is encouraged and being rude and condescending to others is not. /speech over

As to your point about the Republic not getting center stage; I personally will disagree a little bit. For a while there, it was the Bounty Hunter, Republic Trooper, and Smuggler as being the only classes announced and the Trooper being the only class to have a Developer Dispatch.

The Sith Warrior is getting more attention currently because that class has been announced (and is the most recent class announcement). While we have shown and said there will be Jedi in The Old Republic, we have not yet properly announced anything for the Jedi but their time will come. And with a passion (no pun intended ).

Also, wait till you see Timeline #5, the Battle of Bothawui.

It is the only thing that would make sense to be pushed back because it's not ready......

The problem with this is we could announce something that isn't done and it could either be completely changed or removed altogether when everything is said and done. At such points, if a player had his or her heart set on something we simply "announced" and then it wasn't there or completely different than they were told, that player will feel lied and betrayed to. This does more of a disservice to the community rather than making them wait for solid information to be released.

Wow! What do you think? I thought we discussed being respectful.

Also, did Sean just say that we should expect to hear a Jedi announcement with Timeline #5, the Battle of Bothawui?
